Candace Menke: Always the Troublemaker
Candace is the oldest & wisest child of Ula Erickson and John Menke (she has a brother, Scott, who is 3 years younger; check out the bridal party page for a glimpse at his lovely mug.) She was a June baby, born in New Jersey where she lived happily (in Manalapan, Morganville, Westfield & Scotch Plains) until she was 13. At that point, she moved to Germantown, MD (where she met her maid-of-honor, Kim!)
During the 11th grade, Candace moved again to Lovettsville, VA, where her mom has remained, (conveniently providing Jack and Candace with a wedding venue.) After graduating high school alongside her bridesmaid Namasha, she went to the University of Maryland, College Park and majored in Microbiology. It was here that she met Kristen and Tara, tricking them into a friendship that would only end in their wedding-servitude.
After graduation, she promptly got a job at McNeil Pharmaceuticals/Johnson & Johnson in a field that was decidedly not Microbiology. Planned that well. This first job took her to Philly, where she lived for about a year before havoc struck the pharmaceutical world and she was forced to look for a job elsewhere; which lead her to EMMES...and living back at home with her mom. This was a less glamorous lifestyle than Candace had envisioned for herself as a young 20-something.
While living at home, Candace adopted a retired racing greyhound (you should try it! It's a blast. Promise) named Cooper! It was also at this time that she started going out with work friends for lunch and happy hours, including a suave web developer named Jack. Even though she may have pretended like she did not have a crush on him, her close friends will tell you otherwise...
